About The Eclectic Gamer Ratings
With The Eclectic Gamer Ratings, I really wanted to create a system where you could get a board game rating that was personal to you.
I’ve had a problem with ratings of all kinds for a while. If you go on IMDB, you’ll see that almost every movie is rated between 7 and 8 just based on the way people rating things online on an out-of-10 rating system works.
Even then, I like a lot of “bad” movies, just because they’re fun, so normal rating systems don’t always show me the movies I like. I’ve always done much better having a friend tell me how they think I’ll like a movie, since they know my tastes.
So here’s how Eclectic Gamer Ratings work: the users here can be that friend. Rather than just giving a game a 1-10 rating, users can break it down by attributes. Do you like co-op games? Then Pandemic will have a higher score. Do you dislike games wit a lot of randomness? Fluxx will have a lower score. You enter how you feel about game attributes and then the scores will be customized to you.
